Road Candy
I packed up my digital Nikon, 35mm Minolta, 35mm underwater disposable, and a medium format Holga camera for a mini road trip to the most south-eastern states in America. All Kodak NC for the film cameras, varying ISO.....lost one roll to the Minolta but I think I finally figured out that cameras quirk. All my favorite proper nouns, the people, the places, the little things that pull your mouth up into a grin. I'm so grateful, Smile!

Happy Condo, thanks bros!!!
First time I have ever read a book from the SVH saga and the book exchange happened to have the first book of the whole series, "Double Love" by Francine Pascal. This became my beach book for a day. Other titles include "Racing Hearts", "Two Boy Weekend", "Rumors", "Troublemaker", "Teacher Crush", and this awesome sounding story "Don't Go Home With John". Wow. Really. There are even super thrillers and magna editions if you can believe it!

Kendra, Beau, and Barry at the Pilot House.
The Pilot House on Key Largo is mos def a place I will go back to. I love it. It boasts a glass bottom bar with holes in the bar top to drop oats down and attract the fishes, live music every night of the week, fun and happy people, yummy food, plus it's part of a marina too. I have been sporadically spying on the restaurant thru their website where they are constantly streaming live video, it's fun, u should try it.

Natures Consumption
Being engulfed in the southeast natural environment warmed me up quite a bit, nibbled on my skin, fed me sometimes in all ways humans can be fed, mind, body, and soul. And it all tasted pretty damn good!

Something to marinate on.......
Nature photographer Clyde Butcher focuses his work on southern Florida, wading around in waist deep swamps with his big cameras and making black and white prints that glorify the swamps, he's got em' lookin like subtropical getaway locations for the wealthy and privileged. One of his galleries is in the middle of swampy nowhere but very worth getting to see his giant prints in real life (bigger than me!).......and the Technical Info section on his website details his equipment and massive darkroom supplies, really cool, Clyde.

Following the Signs.
Florida
Readily poised in places and at heights so that only a glance is needed to retrieve the information that is being relayed. Well for those people who read signs anyway. And for those signs that have something to see on them.

Caribbean Club, Key Largo
The Caribbean Club in Key Largo is on the gulf side (aka Blackwater Sound) of the island and has some pop culture claims to fame and some really cool island history (think brothels for neighbors and Humphrey Bogart in the glory days of Hollywood). The structure has changed over the years but is still open air, patio, beach, and docks. The local bikers and sailors drink on each others tabs, carrying around their own koozies, pets galore, it's nice. Oh, hey Barry, thanks a million for the road snacks for the long drive up north ;)

Killah Priest, 60 Second Assassin, DJ Notion, Stoopz N Breeze, USM, and Midcoast Most entertained a super psyched crowd with their rap skills till the break of dawn on Halloween night. What is considered illicit, weird and gross any other day of the year is on display while the nearly full moon leads to debaucherous behavior. OoooOOoOo...debauchery. Plus there was free candy!
